AI directory report: October 2026
Every month we check the places to submit an AI tool by hand. This is the state of the 65 places on our list in October 2026.
- Places checked
- 65
- Free to submit
- 46
- Paid only
- 16
- Dofollow link
- 28
- Free and dofollow
- 20
- Median DR
- 75
What we found
- "Free" often comes with conditions. 12 places ask for a badge or a link back to them before a free listing, and 14 put free submissions in a queue or waiting line, some for months.
- Several big names went paid. Some well-known directories now offer only paid listings, and at least one well-known directory had no public submission page at all on our check.
- Not every listing link counts. 13 places gave nofollow links and 24 were mixed or unclear, often because outbound links go through the directory's own redirect.
- Prices quoted online disagree. For some directories we found three different prices in articles; the only reliable source is the directory's own submit page on the day you submit.
What is on the list
- 23 ai tool directories
- 19 launch platforms
- 5 software directories
- 3 review sites
- 4 communities
- 11 brand profiles
How we check
We open each site's submit page, note whether a free option exists and what it costs, and open a sample listing to see if the outbound link carries nofollow, ugc or sponsored. DR is Domain Rating by Ahrefs, measured for every site on the same day. Names and per-site details are in the Launch Kit; this report shows the totals. You may quote these numbers with a link to this page.
