Submission guide

Prepare once, then submit to each directory in a few minutes.

1. Before you submit

  • A working product page, a pricing page (even if it says "free") and a privacy page.
  • A square logo (512 × 512 px, PNG) and 3 screenshots (1280 × 800 px works on most sites).
  • A short name for your tool, a tagline, a short and a long description (templates below).
  • A work email on your own domain. Some directories reject free email addresses.
  • A simple sheet or the list's tracker to note where and when you submitted.

2. Add UTM tags to your link

UTM tags are small labels at the end of a link. Your analytics tool reads them and shows which directory sent each visitor. Use one tag per directory:

Link with UTM tags
https://yourtool.com/?utm_source=directory-name&utm_medium=directory&utm_campaign=launch

Replace directory-name with the site's name, for example betalist. Some directories strip query strings; that is fine, the listing still works.

3. Copy-ready templates

Fill in the brackets. Change the first sentence for each directory instead of pasting the same text everywhere.

Tagline (about 60 characters)
[Action verb] [what] for [who], powered by AI
Short description (about 40 words)
[Tool name] is an AI [category] that helps [audience] [achieve outcome] without [pain point]. Add your [input] and get [output] in seconds. [Pricing, only if true].
Long description (about 150 words)
[Tool name] helps [audience] who struggle with [problem]. Instead of [old way], you [new way].

What you can do:
- [Feature 1: outcome]
- [Feature 2: outcome]
- [Feature 3: outcome]

Built for [use cases]. Pricing: [plans]. Try it at [URL].

4. Check a link yourself

  1. Open a live listing on the directory and find the link to the listed product.
  2. Right-click the link and choose Inspect.
  3. If the link has rel="nofollow", ugc or sponsored, it is nofollow. Otherwise it is dofollow. noopener and noreferrer do not matter.
  4. After your own listing goes live, check it the same way. Rules can differ between free and paid listings.

5. Common mistakes

  • Same text everywhere. Rewrite at least the first sentence for each site.
  • Submitting before the product page is ready. Many reviewers open your site; a broken page means rejection.
  • Mass or automated submissions. Submit one by one. Bulk tools often break directory rules.
  • Not tracking. Without dates you cannot tell which listings were approved or went missing.
  • Expecting instant results. Approval can take days or weeks, and a link alone does not guarantee rankings.
